How many large wars did the British Empire fight between 1815 and 1914?
Essentially one, the Crimean War, and that was geographically very limited, with limited ground troops.
And when the British Empire had to fight two large wars in thirty years, it was finished.
The American Empire hasn't learned that key part in keeping up a global empire is avoiding wars.
Instead the American Empire seeks significant wars, in the belief that it must constantly prove itself.
This is self-destructive in the long-term.
Even if the leadership would be competent.
Empires have been sold with the promise that they bring peace ("Pax Britannica"), but the American Empire and its imperial presidency believe they need regularly to break peace for the sake of military triumphs.
