YOUTH KILLED BY ISRAELI OCCUPATION, JOURNALIST WITNESSING THE KILLING ARRESTED [Non-Graphic]
Illegal Gush Etzion colony bloc junction once again was the scene of Israel's occupation forces killing a Palestinian civilian on Friday as 21 y/o Mahmud Ahmad Abu Fanunah - name also given as Mahmoud Ahmad Fannoun - was shot and left to bleed to death.
Israel's occupation forces made their standard "tried to stab a soldier" claim, followed by the usual addition that "no soldiers were injured".
According to Palestinian eye-witnesses Fanunah had no knife and was empty-handed when he was shot, apparently on the instigation of illegal Israeli settler who got soldiers to order him out of his car, after which he was shot several times.
Previously the illegal Israeli settler had been driving alongside Fanunah's car - which had Israeli plates - before they both had to stop at the checkpoint. There the illegal settler had exited his car and went to speak to the occupation soldiers, while pointing at Fanunah.
Israeli occupation forces stopped Palestinian ambulances from reaching Fanunah. Like in Thursday's killing of two Palestinian youths in Salfit, a knife appears in photographs from the scene only some time after the shooting, not being present immediately afterwards.
Photographer Hisham Abu Shaqra, working for Anadalu News Agency, was arrested by Israel's occupation forces after taking footage of the incident. Again, based on photographs taken from distance, Israel's occupation soldiers were possibly orders from an illegal Israeli settler (whether same or another one, we don't know) when they arrested the photojournalist.
This is a common occurrence in the occupied territories and shows how the line between soldiers and supposed "civilians" not only has become blurred, but has allowed to continue to be so by both Israel's political and military leadership, which have not acted against it, but in fact have encouraged it to cultivate the political support of the illegal settlers.
Israel's occupation forces closed traffic after the killing and raided Fanunah's family home, where his relatives had to come face to face by the occupiers who had just killed him - a traumatic experience which thousands of Palestinian families have had to ace through the decades of occupation.
Two minors were arrested by Israel's occupation forces near the illegal Shaare Benjamin colony in a separate incident. Occupation forces claim that they found two knives in the teenagers' possession.
