Australia´s sad government does it´s worst to please the Americans
(and their Israeli overlords).
Frankly, no foreign government seems to care much what Australia does.
Themselves the Australians believe that they are something like a third
rate superpower; current prime minister Howard has claimed that he
would like himself to be though as "America´s deputy in Oceania". And
of course he claimed that he´s ready to attack neighbouring states,
if he believes terrorists are lurking inside their borders, ready to launch
attacks against the Aussies. Which didn´t terribly impress anybody,
coming from a nation that hadn´t guts to stand against the Indonesian
dictature, whose leaders had the habit of calling Australia "South Iriyan",
after Dutch part of Papua-New Guinea, which Indonesia gobbled up in
1963 and renamed Iriyan Jaya, because the Australians were so
subservient to them, like sheeps really.
Now the current government, lead by this prime minister Howard, the poor
man´s Margaret Thatcher, has been ready to jump on to every lunacy the
US has been up to lately, but have the Americans thanked him? They didn´t
even know Howard´s name! I would wager that probably large part of
America´s political elite don´t even know that Australia has troops in Iraq...
But no matter, Australia stands fast on the side of America&Israel, gaining
nothing, but to the Australian leadership it´s all about participating and not
about gaining something - like a new term in office, if the polls are to be believed.

The lessons of Dennis Ross
The truth is of course a little bit different from what Dennis Ross
now claims it to be. After all, the Americans are hardly an impartial,
neutral side, which can objectively step in when the sides don´t
keep up their commitments. The problem is that Americans are in
love with Israel. The Oslo process was in the eyes of the Americans
an easy way to help Israeli leaders to achieve what they wanted and
in terms that would be beneficial to Israel; in no way was the US ready
to force Israel to do anything, commitments or no commitments. This
worked as long as Yitzhak Rabin lived, but after he was murdered, the
Americans got first weak Shimon Perez, desperate to win election, and
then new leaders hostile to the terms that Rabin was ready to accept as
the price of the peace. The Americans now hand in their hands Israeli
leaders hostile to any realistic peace deal, but tried to continue as they
would be still dealing with Yitzhak Rabin and not with Benyamin
Netanyahu.
What the article´s writer writes about Jasser Arafat is, bluntly said,
nonsense. Israelis seem to have the oddest ideas about the Palestinian
leadership - like making Arafat all powerful among the Palestinians -
which is pretty much adrift in an ocean without any means of steering
the ship. The problem is the weak position of Palestinians in
the negotiating table - no superpower to back them, no ways to force
Israel to keep up it´s promises - and the weakness of the old leadership,
now losing it´s support and credibility among the populace, because of
the aforementioned weaknesses. Like the Americans, the Palestinian
leadership hasn´t been able to accomodate the changes in Israel´s
leadership and Israel´s changed goals because of this. As there wasn´t
any more leaders in the Israeli side who were ready to peace deal acceptable
to the Palestinian populace - this is one oddity in the American-Israeli
camp, they believe that the Palestinian leadership should accept any
kind of deal, not understanding that they can only accept a deal that
the Palestinian people accepts - there was little they could do.

Fidel Castro:The Pathology of George Bush
Fidel Castro has his faults but better that him than an American

democracy in Cuba can be created only by Cubans, not by US nor it´s

greatest enemy of democracy and progress in the area is the USA.

Afghanistan's Bamiyan Buddhas may rise again from rubble
Rebuilt the Buddhas if it´s possible, but why not build them as they were in
their prime in the late antiquity? (They were in a bad shape before they
were destroyed and during the last few decades had already suffered damage
in gunfire - one would have to recreate uncountable number of small holes left
by bullets too if the statues are to be build in the manner they were before
the Taliban destroyed them.) After all, the destruction can´t be undone, so
why don´t build them so that they can last another 1500 years?
By the way, nobody really knows certainly how old the statues were,
Afghanistan being part of the larger Indian realm, whose history of this
era - and many others - is chronologically a mess.

Israel Ignores the Lessons of History
I find it curious that suicide bombers are describes in so appalling
terms. What is it that makes it easier to accept a massacre
committed by missiles launched from helicopter or by cruise
missiles launched from ships hundreds of kilometers away?
After all, these come as much without warning to the victims.
And one has to remember that suicide bombs have their uses; if the
failed bomb strikes against Adolf Hitler in 1939 and 1944 would
have been suicide attacks, like the latter was at one point planned
to be, he would have died and not survived.

John Kerry´s misconceptions of Palestine.
It´s a curious thing, every day Israelis murder Palestinians and Palestinians
usually kill about one Israeli every week; you couldn´t guess that it´s this
way from the speeches of US politicians. Well, it seems that it doesn´t matter
who does most of the dying and all of the occupying:Israelis can´t be anything
else but innocent victims, being Jews and all that.
And in the end the number of votes John Kerry wins because of this wouldn´t
probably get to him elected to a county council. But, if he wouldn´t be speaking
this crap, George the Lesser would attack him because of it - and still it wouldn´t
change anything. This election will not be decided on the premises of which
candidate loves Israel and it´s crimes more.

The transformation of Turkey
I would like to see Turkey as a memberstate of EU, but there are huge
problems. For example, the oppression of Kurds must end, and this
development is only in it´s first stages - they can´t be compared to the
situation of minorities in the European Union; Basques have large autonomy,
Ireland will probably be united in the lifetime of the current political
leadership of Northern Ireland parties and the persecuted gypsies of
Eastern Europe haven´t been treated nearly as badly as the Kurds, of
whom tens of thousands have died since the fighting between Turkey and
PKK began in 1984.
Economically Turkey is indeed a "devoloped nation", but in reality this
is not the whole truth: Some parts of the country have relatively high
standard of living, whereas some are really part of the third world. Of
course, same goes for Italy; Northern Italy is one of the richest places
in the EU, but Southern Italy is - according to many critics - in reality
economically at the same level with North African countries.

The destruction of Iraq´s southern marshes began before Saddam Hussein´s
reign and deliberate destruction of the marshes is only one of the reasons for
their reducement to just 5% of their previous size; the rivers carry less water
to southern Iraq because of the use of water upriver has risen massively, with
great dams build in Turkey and Syria.

Pakistan´s secret service ISI behind the 11th September 2001 attacks?
One thing that can be said against this is that the ISI spent a long time to
bring the Taliban on power in Afghanistan, and certainly they knew that
the movement´s fall from power would be quite likely after a major attack
against the US that could be linked to al-Qaida, which the movement let
to operate freely and establish training camps in the areas of Afghanistan
that Taliban controlled.
But of course puppets can sometimes cut their leashes and become
independent operators, which may force their former masters to took
drastic action and the Pashtuns that form the majority of the Talibans
have long harbored dreams of uniting the Pashtun lands that are now
divided between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Support for Wall Mocks International Law.
American politicans think that they can invoke international law
against countries that they don´t like and dismiss it when it
concerns one of their "friends". And the funny thing is, I really
think that they honestly don´t see anything odd in this. Even
politicians who usually cry against international organizations
are not shy to use them when they see them as useful to legalize
the actions of US or it´s "friends" against states like Iraq.
Simply put it, George W. Bush, John Kerry and the rest believe that
only other countries are bound by laws, not US nor it´s "friends".
They, after all, are saintly nations uncapable of dastardly deeds.

have succeeded creating a new Saddam Hussein - far earlier than I could

go this way, soon Iraq will have new mass graves before the older ones
are yet opened and studied.

PM admits graves claim 'untrue'
Downing Street has admitted to The Observer that repeated claims by Tony Blair that
'400,000 bodies had been found in Iraqi mass graves' is untrue, and only about 5,000
corpses have so far been uncovered.
If rest of the known mass graves would yeald as much bodies at average, then the
whole number of bodies in known mass graves would be about 25 000. Huge number
still. Of course, most likely not all mass graves are known and some bodies may
have been either deliberately destroyed, but still... Well, now the same people who
cried about the "exaggeration" of the number of victims in Jenin - even when the
too high numbers came from the Israeli military - will claim that in this case,
exaggeration was the right cause to take.
And killing 25 000 human beings is a terrible thing, but it don´t put Saddam Hussein
in the same league with Pol Pot, Idi Amin or Francisco Franco. It puts him in the
same league with the members of the military junta that ruled Argentina between
1976-85. The million Iran and Iraqi victims of the 1980-88 Persian Gulf war were
victims of an illegal and unjust war, but if Hussein would be convicted of that, then
George W. Bush and Tony Blair have to be brought to trial and convicted too. And
I would like to see this to happen to all of them.
USAID´s lack of knowledge of the history of the 20th century is appalling. With
400 000 murdered people you wouldn´t be even near the top of the list. Surprisingly
USAID has forgotten with the mass murders committed by America´s friends also
many committed by the states and regimes antagonistic to the US - and many

He lacks the one major principle in scholarship, that one has to
be objective and neutral. If you can´t be objective towards your
subject of study, then change the subject.
I have read only a few of his books and not too many of his articles,

times. Later he can´t keep his head cool. Instead of impartial study,
he starts to write apologetically, trying to back up his own views
using selective examples and dubious reasoning.

And really the man to blame for the failure is Clinton. He was - even

The Americans resemble the kind of people who write marriage proposals
for famous convicted murderers in prison. The more heinous the crime, the

for decades continous stream of love letters to the criminals in charge in Israel.
This is a lasting love affair, the affairs with dictatorships around the world are
just summer romances.
It´s an interesting thing that the USA fell in love with Israel at the same time

about early humans.
Interesting study, but their view of the Homo erectus is, to
say the least, odd. Certainly it isn´t an intermediate, it´s
part of the genus Homo and the members of Homo erectus were
human beings. Not totally like us, but human beings. Very

Interesting study, but their view of the Homo erectus is, to
say the least, odd. Certainly it isn´t an intermediate, it´s
part of the genus Homo and the members of Homo erectus were
human beings. Not totally like us, but human beings. Very

TV coverage in United Kingdom of the conflict in Palestine
favors the the colonialists.
Bias or lack of any kind of knowledge of journalism? I hazard a
guess: Bias grown from the fear that the colonialists start to
whine that the British media is on the side of the Palestinians,
as colonialists often do, like towards the BBC, even if this study
proves that the BBC acts as a propaganda outlet for the colonialists.
One has to say too that the British seem to be quite
splendidly stupid people if they really know as little
of current Palestine and it´s history as this study claims.
After all, in the end the blame for the current mess in
Palestine goes solely to the British. They could have in
1948 either forced the creation of a unified state and keep
it together or orchestrate the partitition of Palestine
without largescale violence and war. They did neither. They
just left. Didn´t feel they were ready to carry the "White
Man´s Burden".
In Malaysia they faced the same kind of situation in the same
year. They stayed and fought for several years.
And little news of the arrogance of the colonialists:
'Israeli plans' for Arafat death.

Palestinians plan UN resolution on barrier.
USA will use it´s veto, but it will make it only more hated -
not only in the Muslim countries, but in other parts of the
world also. Of course, the Americans don´t care about. The only
thing that matters to them is to fulfill the command of their
masters in Tel Aviv. It´s curious how the USA has never any
other options than blindly do whatever Israel wants it to do.
For example, now would be a perfect time to force Israel towards
peaceful resolution and negotiations and use the wall and the
UN resulotion about it as a leverage. But because the USA -
and maybe UK - government(s) are just puppets of Tel Aviv, they
can´t do anything except than use their veto and declare that
"Israel has the right to defend itself!" (Which means that
Israel basically has the right to broke international laws and
do whatever it wants to do because it´s Israel.) Great harm for
the USA - and UK if it goes along, as the Israeli government
believes it will - but they don´t care about that as long as
the Israeli leadership is happy.

The foolishness of neutrality in Palestine.
In almost all conflicts you can see who is the better side
and which is the worser side by comparing simply how much
people they kill. And if you do this simple calculation,
you can´t claim that Israel is the victim. It has killed
over three times as many people as the Palestinian fighters
and suicide bombers. In the last two weeks, the Israeli
army has murdered about 30 palestinians. At the same time,
Palestinian fighters have killed about 5 Israelis.
The problem with Israel is of course the Holocaust. I find
it disgusting that countries that in the 1930s didn´t do
anything to stop the Nazi regime´s oppression of Jews and
other minorities, and didn´t take Jewish refugees, now stand
by as Israel commits it´s own atrocities, which then are
usually - not by usually by politicians, but media - claimed
to be justified because of the Holocaust and the eternal
victimhood of the Jews. Somehow huge numbers of people
believe that Israel has right to do whatever it´s leaders
want to the Palestinians because of the Jewish genocide.
The Palestinians probably have to be succesful in their
fight for their own country and then find their own¨
victims to oppress before they start to get support.
"Remember the suffering of the Palestinians in the hands
of the Israelis" would then be often heard claim why
no action should be taken.
People don´t like to help current victims, but to be friends
of past victims. It´s much easier and still gives you the
feeling that you are a nice and good person.

Palestinians Praise World Court Decision. More.
More.
All columns that I have read about the decision are basically declaring that the Court´s decision won´t change anything. Pessimism - or in some cases, optimism - rules.
I wonder, do those who whine about the Court first taking the case and then about it´s decision at all consider the larger complications of the case?
They just whine that Israel should have the right to do whatever
it wants and that no one has the right to stand against Israel
and that Israel has the right to steal as much Palestinian land
as possible, and none of them thinks at all that this isn´t an
isolated case, that if Israel gets away with this, then it will
encourage others to do so too. And that if Israel would
obey the ruling, then it would strenghten international law
and would help solve conflicts peacefully.
But to these "Israel über alles" folk Israel is always a special
case, totally isolated from the rest of the humanity.

UN rules against Israeli barrier.
Response from the übermensch is typically arrogant.
Of course, this is only a moral victory for the Palestinians,
as USA, Great Britain and Russia proclaim their support for
the landgrab, thus paralyzing the UN, and EU, which could
ruin Israel´s economy with sanctions, is incapable of acting
against Israel, being too scared.

Summary: Three new books detail Xinjiang's long history of oppression. As they show, Beijing's rule there has always been harsh -- but never so bad as in the last few years.

So much about the good news about mountain gorillas. In the
next thirty years, humanity will quite likely succeed driving
all it´s closest living relatives extinct in nature. Glorious
achievement for the human race. We really are bastards.

Pity that NASA didn´t try find a way to clean dust from the
solar panels; I think that I read somewhere that this was at
least brought up but nothing came of it - probably they thought
the rovers would be dead before dust accumulation on the solar
panels would become a problem.
What the MER rovers show is that you could really have Mars
rovers that could work for several years on Mars and that
they wouldn´t necessarily have to be nuclear-powered like
the 2009 rover.

If you stubbornly play "striker" like Pauleta, if you don´t
take Deco away from the field even when the little guy is
just plain comical, falling on the ground constantly,
shooting the ball everywhere except towards the Greek goal,
well then you certainly deserve to lose. And Scolari
deserved to lose. Portugal, on the other hand, didn´t
really deserve to lose. Greece had only one true scoring
opportunity in the entire game - but they used it. And so
they are the champions. Fairytale story if there ever has been.
I remember how the Greeks lost all their games in USA in
1994, scoring none and picking ten times the ball from
inside of their goal. I could never have imagined that a
Greek national team would be the best in Europe. Yet,
they are now. Congratulations for them.

China's ancient Koguryo Kingdom site added to World Heritage List.
Everybody except the Chinese think that Koguryo kingdom,
which fell in 668, was Korean. South Koreans have been
claiming that China has been making noises about Koguryo
having been Chinese because this could - according to the
South Koreans - help China to claim part of North Korea
if the Kim dynasty falls.

nobody has jurisdiction over them. Hopefully there will be
justice in Congo. Millions have died.

the criminality of the Wall it´s building on Palestinian land
and gives command for it´s American vassals to show to the

All politicians support Israel, virtually in all circumstances.

It´s pretty problematic to declare every new fossil which is
little different to be a representative of a new subspecies or
species. In Homo sapiens sapiens the difference between the
smallest and tallest adult member of our species that has lived
is 203 centimeters. The variation can be huge and when we
many times don´t know the gender of the remains - and the
difference between male and female members of species was
ape-like (great differences in height) in early hominids
and in diminished form is true today - nor sometimes the age
of the hominid when it died, then declaring new species on
the basis of few remains is problematic.

This time the better team lost... What was Karel Brückner
thinking when he didn´t make any chances when Greece took
control of the game after Vassilis Tsartas come to the
field in the extra-time? Marek Heinz should have been sent
on the field. Smicer, for example, could have been taken
off. I would have really liked to see Czech Republic in
the final. They play beautiful attacking football and Greece
plays the game of an underdog, they play it well, but
it isn´t beautiful game, stubborn yes, but not beautiful.
Hopefully Portugal wins. But Greece have a real chance of
despoiling the host´s party. Especially if Scolari continues
to playing the no good Pauleta. He´s as useless as a forward
can be. A burden to this teammates. Nuno Gomes must start.

Portugal had easier time that I would have imagined against
the Netherlands. They played well, were the better team, but
Ricardo´s acting left a bad taste for me. He played otherwise
well and then started in the end started faking injury. For
two minutes. The Dutch have a good reason to complain, even
if their own game was rather weak. I don´t think they played
once in the tournament the kind of game they can play at their
best. But Portugal is in the finals. More than I could have

France condemns Arafat isolation.
There are two true obstacles on the road to peace: The
current leadership of Israel, and the hysterical majority
of Israeli Jews that the leadership have succesfully misled
into believing that a)negotiating peace is impossible and
that b)peace can be brought by uniteral annexation of large
parts of remaining Palestinian land.
The majority of Israeli Jews have been lead to believe that
the Palestinian leadership rejected a very generous offer
in the 2001 negotiations and that the failure of those
negotiations have made all future negotiations impossible.
Yet I believe that if they would have been given the
kind of offer the Palestinian leadership were, most of
the Israeli Jews themselves would have rejected it.
It´s no accident that the people who believe that
Palestinians should have accepted the deal do not know
anything about it contents; if the Palestinians would
have been offer the kind of deal the critics believe
they were, then certainly the Palestinians would have
accepted it. The fault of the Palestinian leadership
lies in it that they were utterly bad in PR then.
Any support to the current Israeli leadership is foolhardy
and weakens the chances of true peace. They have done and
said pretty much everything that they can to destroy any
chance of peace. Yet, the Western countries act like they
wouldn´t have any knowledge of Israeli leaderships actions
and words. One can only wonder what the Western countries
believe they will achieve by this.
Certainly the only chance of peace is making sure at least
to the Israeli public, that if Israel wants peace, then it
must accept the fact, that it will much give up all the lands
that they have occupied. This the majority of Israeli Jews
are not ready, according to polls. Their current favorite
explanation seems to be that "If we would withdraw from
all of Gaza and West Bank, that wouldn´t be enough for
the Palestinians and they would just want more." The Israelis
who use it don´t seem to understand that at this point that
is just a guess; currently it is they who are wanting more and
more land; their hunger for more land is seemingly endless.
A gallup, if I remember correctly it was in the Maariv
magazine, showed that 66% of Israeli Jews support
annexation of at least part of West Bank. Same people
then ask time after time why Palestinians want a right
of return to refugees if they got their own state on Gaza
and West Bank? Answer? They should look at the map. Even
at best, the future Palestinian state will be a small,
small state. And if there Sharon plans will come true,
it will be even more smaller. There just isn´t room for
all the refugees, even now.
I get angry when I read this kind of Israeli sh*t. They
arrogantly distort facts even when they know that their most
of their audience know that they are speaking utter cr*p.
