SIX YOUNG MEN DETAINED AS PART OF SECURITY CO-OPERATION TO BE RELEASED
Six youths imprisoned without charge by Palestinian Authority since March 30 to April 9th (depending on each one's case) as part of security co-operation with occupier Israel will be released.
Seif al-Idrissi, Mohammed al-Salameen, Basil al-Araj(33), Ali Dar al-Sheikh, Mohammed Harb(23) and Haitham Siyaj(19) declared a hunger-strike on August 28th against their imprisonment without charge and suspended it when they were charged on September 6th.
Charges against them have not been dropped and there will be further proceedings against them.
Their families claim that they have been tortured while imprisoned. A claim has been made that they would have been forced to sign 'confessions'.
Al-Araj, Harb and Siyaj were detained after having been missing several days. Israeli occupation is claimed to have suspected they were 'planning an attack' against the occupation.
There is now a likelihood that the Israeli occupation will detain the young men after they have been released. Siyaj's mother has said that PA representative has told her that her son is detained to 'protect him' from the Israeli occupation.
