IPNOT PICTURE OF THE DAY from June 4: Funeral of Rayan Muhammad Shreim(3)

Rayan Muhammad Shreim's family had arrived from Saudi Arabia to Istanbul's Atatürk airport when the three suicide bombers attacked it. His mother Sundus Abd al-Halim Hashem died in the attack immediately and his father was seriously wounded.

Rayan was himself badly wounded and was mistakenly reported to have died on Thursday, but he survived until Saturday. His family intended to spend three days in Turkey before returning to Palestine.

On Monday Rayan's body was returned to his home in the city of Qalqiliya on the occupied West Bank and he was buried.

His father had a Jordanian passport and his mother was a holder of a temporary Jordanian passport.

He was the third Palestinian to die as a result of the Istanbul attack. Nisrin Hashim Shafee Hammad died immediately in the attack, like Rayan's mother.
