MENTALLY HANDICAPPED YOUNG MAN WOUNDED BY ISRAELI OCCUPATION FORCES

Mentally handicapped young man Hasan Khalid al-Qadhi from the village of Awarta was shot and severely wounded by Israel's occupation forces today. According to different sources, he's either 21 or 26 years old.

The shooting happened at a checkpoint on the entrance to the town of Nablus according to one source, according to another at Beit Furik nine kilometers away from Nablus proper.

According to Israel's occupation forces al-Qadhi "tried to stab a soldier". Israeli occupation presented a photograph of a tiny knife on the ground at the site of the shooting. According to Palestinian sources, al-Qadhi was riding his bike when he was shot.

Hasan al-Qadhi, described as "special needs person", has been detained several times in the past by Israel's occupation forces, before being released. Reasons or excuses for these are not mention in our sources.
