Supporters of manned space exploration in the US have been hoping for Bush to win because of his support for eventual manned space mission to Mars etc, but Bush is handling the US economy badly - huge deficit, evergrowing debt of federal state and individuals - and when one also takes in the equation the rising of the US Medicare and pension costs as the baby boomers retire and the unwilligness of the US political leaders to raise taxes to pay for these - it´s pretty certain that US doesn´t have the money to enlargened publicly funded manned space exploration.
